Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) has received the certificate of Specialized Business Accreditation issued by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) recently, symbolizing all its accredited programs of its School of Management, School of Economics and International Business School succeeded in renewing the period of accreditation.
As the first university in China with IACBE’s accredited programs in July, 2018, GCUT initiated its application of renewing the period of accreditation in May, 2025. It accepted online evaluation of the expert group regarding the renewal from April 14 to 16, 2026, during which the expert group held 12 talks with related representatives, including GCUT’s leadership, the School of Management, School of Economics, International Business School, Academic Affairs Office, Finance Office, Students Affairs Office, and the Library as well as that of students, faculty, off-campus experts, and enterprises providing internships for GCUT’s students. GCUT’s leadership, related schools and departments delivered 10 thematic reports, presenting its school running, disciplinary construction of business studies, characteristics of fostering students, guaranteeing of teaching quality, faculty’s teaching and scientific research, and students’ achievements. The expert group thought highly of its integration between industry and education, AI-empowered education, and innovation of teaching approaches of business studies.

The renewal mirrors that IACBE appreciated GCUT’s quality of student fostering and achievements in school running while elevating its internationalization of business studies to a new level, drawing on which it will continue to deepen its teaching reform of business studies and keep enhancing its teaching quality and improving its internationalized level.
