Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) held its academic festival on science and technology which focuses on “innovation leads the way to the future in intelligent GCUT” on the afternoon of September 18 to fully ignite its faculty and students’ passion for academic research and scientific innovation, thus creating a favorable atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation. The festival was co-hosted by GCUT’s Communist Youth League Committee, Academic Affairs Office, and Laboratory Management Center with 14 of its units including Office of Discipline and Science and Technology and Library attending. GCUT’s Vice Presidents Liu Jianbo and Wang Zhichen as well as related personnel visited it.

GCUT Communist Youth League Committee invited the teams winning the gold prize in the provincial competition of the “Challenge Cup” National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition this year and the social practice team who was publicized on the platform of “Nanfang Plus” to share their experience of participating in competition on science and innovation and social practices respectively at the beginning of the festival. Centering around the introduction to the project, technological advantages and market analysis, the team winning the gold prize shared with details while the practice team illustrated how to turn what they have learned into serving rural revitalization based on their experience in Liannan Yao Autonomous County of Qingyuan City. Then units attended the festival introduced their scientific and technological interactive games and achievements to related leadership.

It is known that the festival concentrates on presenting typical disciplinary competitions, academic and innovative activities, students’ innovative teams, and achievements of students’ scientific and technological innovation of each participated units, which also provides interaction parts on the theme, attracting nearly 3,000 students to participate in it.

GCUT keeps promoting “fostering through practices” and “fostering with science and innovation”, thus its faculty and students achieving fruitful results in various types of scientific and innovative competitions and social practices in recent years.
