Delegation of GCUT was invited to University of Saint Joseph for exchanges

Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) assigned 12 students from its different schools to participate in the annual International Cultural Carnival held by University of Saint Joseph (USJ) to better understand USJ’s strength of school running through exchanges, thus clarifying their choice of pursuing further education while deepening their friendship across universities.



As an annual brand event of USJ, the International Cultural Carnival has attracted teachers, students and representatives from all walks of life with over 20 nationalities, which aims to promote various cultures and intercultural exchanges while advancing academic exchanges and providing advice on pursuing further education. It set up special parts including academic information and admissions consultation apart from cultural booths, food tasting and art performances, which fully demonstrated USJ’s campus culture and strength of school running. Moreover, it provides a quality platform for students who intend to pursue further education at USJ to know more about USJ’s postgraduate programs and postgraduate recommendation. GCUT’s student representatives took part in different activities guided by USJ’s teachers and students, enabling them to further understand various cultures and carry out exchanges focused on further education with academic tips provided.

During art performances, they enjoyed performances such as lion dance, singing, African fashion show, and dance, through which present performers from different places showed their cultural confidence and vibrancy. GCUT’s students shared their feelings with USJ’s teachers and students during the performances, promoting understanding and appreciation of different cultures.



GCUT’s students participating in the carnival all considered that such journey yielded fruitful results, which enabled them to further understand USJ’s characteristics of school running as well as various cultures Macao SAR. Moreover, they got to know USJ’s enrollment policies for postgraduate study and postgraduate recommendation, thus clearing their further education and enhancing intercultural communication competence and planning for further education.

GCUT’s teachers and students visited Macau University of Science and Technology on March 15, such as its campus, Exhibition hall of university history, and library, where they embraced strong academic atmosphere. They expected that they could have more opportunities to exchange with other universities, therefore they could broaden their horizons and sustain their motivations for learning after the visit.



It is the third time that GCUT organized its students to participate in USJ’s International Cultural Carnival, serving as an approach to promote GCUT’s internationalized education and enhance exchanges and cooperation with other universities. Furthermore, it helps its students to improve their plans for further education and provide them with such opportunities. The activity not only enables students to get in touch with diverse cultures outside the campus, but builds a platform for deepening cooperation in further education between GCUT and universities in Macao SAR. Therefore, it gives its students a chance to know more about USJ’s characteristics of school running as well as policies for postgraduate study and postgraduate recommendation, laying solid foundation for their future application in further education. GCUT will continue to establish more platforms for international exchanges and education consulting services. In this way, it helps to cultivate youths with global perspectives who remain dedicated to the country and the people in the new era.
