Dean Yao Ruohe and Deputy Dean Cao Yinglie at the School of Electronics and Information Engineering & Telecommunication Engineering of Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) attended Huawei China Partner Conference 2026 at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center with 80 of its faculty and student representatives on March 20. As a partner of Huawei ICT Academy, the School of Electronics and Information Engineering & Telecommunication Engineering organized its team to attend the conference so as to better understand the latest trend of digital and intelligent industry and deepen the mechanisms of cooperative training between industry and education.

Themed on “Rising Through Collaboration, Achieving with Integrated Intelligence”, the conference aimed to pursue comprehensive integration and mutual progress in strategies, competences and values through “partners+Huawei” to achieve its customers’ quality digital and intelligent upgrading while improving values of digitization and intelligence of industries. The conference gathered talents from all walks of life, representatives of related industries, and educators to discuss over opportunities of technological innovation and new models of cooperation between colleges and businesses and industrial cooperation centered around topics such as artificial intelligence, application of computility, and solutions to industrial digitization.

Faculty team: getting in touch with advanced technologies and industrial resources

GCUT’s faculty team further explored advanced technologies and platform solutions that are consistent with higher education such as scientific and innovative solutions to AI education in higher education, the new generation of OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage, and public supercomputing and intelligence computing platform for education and scientific research. They focused on the solutions to talent development of low-altitude economy of related majors, and shared opinions with enterprises centered around contents including the direction of talent development, building of courses, and construction of experimental and training platforms. Furthermore, they had reached initial cooperation intention with related enterprises concerning the direction of talent development and exploration of course resources.

Student team: broadening horizons during the study tour

The team from GCUT’s School of Electronics and Information Engineering & Telecommunication Engineering totaling 80 faculty and student representatives visited two exhibitions, namely, “advanced technologies” and “ecological achievements” for the thematic speeches on related industries. They got to know the upgrading of latest technologies, system of specialist testing, and model of cooperation between colleges and businesses in terms of the ICT industry based on outstanding cases. Starting with industrial scenarios - solutions to various scenarios - ICT infrastructure, the exhibition concentrated on industrial practices and researches, which effectively enhanced participants’ sense of participation through various forms such as interactive devices, popular devices, and scenario-based videos. Present students shared that they had learned a lot from the study tour, which not only broadened their horizons, but enriched their knowledge. Moreover, they deepened their understandings of the cultivating approaches of integration between industry and education.
